Narberth Town Council launches Community Grants programme for 2026/27

Applications are now open for funding to support projects and activities that benefit Narberth residents.

Narberth Town Council has budgeted £12,000 for community grants in 2026/27, supporting the local organisations, volunteers and ideas that make a positive difference to life in the town.

The programme welcomes applications from eligible charities, community and voluntary organisations, sports clubs, not-for-profit organisations and new or emerging community groups.

What funding is available?

There are two application routes:

• Small Grants — up to £500: for smaller community initiatives, start-up activities, one-off projects, events and minor equipment purchases. A shorter application form keeps the supporting information proportionate to the request.
• Standard Grants — £501 to £3,000: for larger community projects, programmes, equipment, improvements and events, with more detailed supporting evidence required.

Projects should normally take place in Narberth or demonstrate a clear and substantial benefit to Narberth residents.

Building on our support for local organisations

The new process builds on the Council’s previous donations-based support, giving organisations a clear and consistent way to apply for funding.

Applications will be considered against the published policy, taking account of community benefit, need, value for money, deliverability and lasting impact. Smaller requests remain welcome, with requirements matched to the size of the grant.

All awards are discretionary and subject to formal Council approval, available funding and an appropriate legal power. Previous funding does not create an automatic entitlement to another award.

Return your completed form and supporting information to the Town Clerk by email or delivery to the Council office. Please check the policy before committing to expenditure, as costs already incurred cannot normally be funded.
